About the Game
After responding to the "Help Wanted" sign in The Little Book Shop's window, you've been working there since summer break began. Your employers, Mr. and Mrs. Fleming, are nice enough people, but a little strange! It's not just that they're old, it's the way they speak and act, almost as if they come from a completely different era altogether. Mr. Fleming talks often of old world values, when formalities were observed and truths, like honor, were noble and respected traits.

Yesterday was a weird day. Mr.Fleming was not his usual calm and relaxed self, he was tense, nervous and pale. The usually composed Mrs. Fleming left the shop in a hurry, passing you a concerned glance as she closed the door. That's when Mr.Fleming made a curious request; he said that the store would be closed today, but he asked if you could come in and assist him with re-categorizing the mythological section. It is most unusual for him to close the store on such short notice, but you agreed to come in as he's offered to pay you overtime.

Weird became bizarre when you arrived at work today to see the "Help Wanted" sign on the door again. Why would they need more help in such a small store? You go in to ask Mr. Fleming, but he was nowhere to be found! Instead you are greeted by a strange letter... And little did you know that your life, and everything you've learned was about to change!

IF you can pass the challenging tests and become...The Apprentice!

How to Play
First thing's first, you must register a username and a password to play. Simply click on the "Register" link on the main menu and create a username/password. Once an acceptable username and password combination has been entered you will then be able to log in and play. The game will save your progress automatically with the puzzles and clues you encounter acting as checkpoints. When you log back in you will automatically be brought back to the location of the last solved clue. NOTE: USERNAMES AND PASSWORDS ARE CASE SENSITIVE

The primary goal of The Apprentice is to make your way to Mr. Fleming's office in the back of his bookshop. Use your mouse to make your way through the twisting and turning bookshelves. Along the way you will encounter some obstacles in your path.

These obstacles are in the form of clues and puzzles which must be solved in order to complete your goals. The puzzles do not need to be solved in any particular order, and if you are stuck on one you may back out of it by clicking on the small red X in the upper left corner of the game screen. This will bring you out of the clue and will allow you to continue on your way.

All answers must be entered in all lowercase letters unless otherwise noted. Any spaces that would normally appear must be used as well. After typing in your answer click on the small gray arrow to the right of the answer box to submit your guess. You will know whether you are correct or not right away. Not all puzzles require the answer to be typed in, and some puzzles do not offer the ability to enter the answer until the puzzle itself is solved.

After completing the game you will be given the option to register for a chance to win one of the prizes listed below.

If you have not already done so, join our forum, where you can discuss the quest with fellow apprentices and recieve helpful hints in our Members Only section.

Keep a sharp eye for a few familiar sights and you just may find a few secrets along the way.

Good luck and try not to get lost...
